I wanted to let you know that I just initiated a new position today. The company finally initiated a dividend this year, after going public roughly 20 years ago. I believe that Dividend Initiators can be a fertile ground for research.  I have always been puzzled why the company never initiated a dividend before, because it could have easily afforded to do so years ago. 

It's perhaps due to the environment we have been in, where investors are now increasingly focusing only on share prices, and not caring at all about dividends. This is increasingly prevalent during bull markets especially. The fact that we've had a 15 year long secular bull market definitely speaks to that.
