Dividend Growth Investments For April 9, 2024
Good Morning,
I wanted to let you know that I made two investments this morning into existing portfolio holdings. The stock prices have been going down recently, which means I am paying a slightly lower price for the value I am expecting to be receiving. I believe that these companies are entering into value territory for me. However, I would not be surprised if they get cheaper from here as well. This is why I am prepared to take advantage of any continued weakness. These are medium sized positions on the lower end for me, so I have the ability to potentially take advantage of any further declines in the stock price as well.
However, I am also going to be monitoring fundamentals as well. If the stock price declines by 20%, but fundamentals are impaired by a corresponding percentage, then I am not really receiving a better deal.
If the share declines by 20%, but fundamentals are intact and even projected to improve, then I am likely receiving a better deal.
To summarize, I will use a quote from Warren Buffett - "Price is what you pay, value is what you get".
